The Door

Jesus builds off of the illustration of Him being a good shepherd to lead him to explain how he creates a way to eternal life and protection from the enemy as the DOOR.

Here are a few takeaways from the sermon:

THE DOOR is for entry and protection!

In ancient Eastern contexts, a shepherd would lead his sheepfold into a narrow piece of a cave or rock to keep his sheep safe during the night. Since the caves did not have doors, the shepherd would sit at the opening and act as the door.

Jesus is the only way into the KINGDOM OF GOD

Jesus is the only person keeping the enemy from getting to us.

If that's the case, then how should we respond to Him being the door?

1. Enter into the Flock

2. Rest inside of the Flock

3. Wait by the Door
