We Made It!

CHECK OUT A FEW PHOTOS FROM OUR LAST WEEK IN MEMPHIS AND OUR FIRST WEEK IN DAYTONA

WE HAVE OFFICIALLY MOVED TO DAYTONA BEACH

We've been eagerly anticipating this time for a while but we have made the move and we're glad to call Daytona home... again. We pulled into town last Monday and took the last week to rest. A former coworker of mine reminded me that we needed time to breathe between our work in Memphis and the work that we will be doing in Daytona.  As much as I was ready to hit the ground running, I was glad to recharge a bit.

Today I started my new assignment as Assistant Pastor and Church Planter in Residence at Christ Community Church of Daytona Beach.

Tomorrow, Kimyatta will be starting her new position as the Instructional Facilitator for Science at Taylor Middle-High School.

and next week our baby, Robyn will start her first year of school. We are excited about the new beginnings.

Church Plant Updates:

We are taking the next few weeks to pray through vision and really tighten up our plan for reaching the people of Daytona Beach.

I'll be starting a nine-months church planting training program in three weeks that we are happy to help fill the gaps in my knowledge of reaching more people for Christ.

Prayer Requests:

  • Long Term Housing: We are blessed to have temporary housing for the next month while we look for a longer option but we're in prayer for our next place already. We'd love something close to the people we'd like to reach, enough space to entertain, host and fellowship and safe.
  • The Harvest: We know that the harvest is plentiful and we are praying that God prepare us to love and lead people well. We also know that he is working in the hearts of those he's called... we are praying that he'd put us in their paths to grow and serve them.
  • Our Hearts: When we pulled in last week, we were already being tempted to do things other than preach the gospel, make disciples and love the city. We are all about Jesus' mission but prayer is what recharges us and keeps us there.
  • Financial Support: Planting a church and being in ministry is a calling that may be led by few but done by many. We desperately need financial support to survive and do ministry well. Please pray that we'd reach our financial goals in full.
