What is Baptism?

BAPTISM IS A SIGN THAT YOU BELONG TO CHRIST
The Bible says that all professing Christians should be baptized (Matthew 28:18-20). Whether you've been following Jesus for a long time and never got baptized or are a new Christian, we would be honored to baptize you!

Scriptural References for Baptism in the Church: Acts 2:37, 38; 8:36-38; 18:8
Baptism is an ordinance of the New Testament, given by Christ, to be dispensed only upon persons professing faith, or that are Disciples, or taught, who upon a profession of faith, ought to be baptized (London Baptist Confession of 1644.)

Identity Church holds that baptism is for the believer who has given a reputable confession of faith in Jesus Christ. Baptism is an external sign of internal change and identification with Christ and his Church. It stands as a sign of our faith because it is not necessary for salvation but it is a way to show off the salvation that we have received by grace, through faith in Christ alone. We also hold that baptism within Identity Church be reserved for those who are or will become members to our church or a church in which we can be assured that congregational and pastoral care will take place.
